Great site for a great person that Ameen Rihani is!
I found this place of poetry in a moment of universal sorrow. I caught some poems of Ameen Rihani and I put them with a series of pictures from N.Y. to Afghanistan. It looks sad, but real. Just for reflection I did this. Once again, the poetry as an island of salvation for humankind.
I am pleased to have "discovered" this site. Thank you for a wonderful resource.
J'ai vu vos poesies dans lebanonart.net, je voulais vous feliciter. Je suis d'origine Libanaise... Mais j'habite Paris maintenant...
Great site for a great icon of the Arab American Literature.
Good Luck for this job...
Most grateful if you are willing to furnish me Al-Makarν's bibliography and bookstore names and addresses where I could buy his works (not in Arabic, please)
A friend of mine is Lebanese and this past week was his birthday, so I wanted to send him a special message. Browsing through the net, I found this site and a beautiful piece of the Chant of Mystics written by Rihani which I sent him.
Beautiful site! Congratulations!
I had not heard of Ameen until my father had recently mentioned him. I am fascinated at the fact that there is a Rihani in Arab-American Literature, and a popular one to say the least.
I would like for Mr. Rihani's writings to be read all over the world so that people see how wonderful his work is.
I'm originally from Russia, but really love Rihani's works! He is just amazing! I kept watching after this website for quite a long time, and it's a GREAT pleasure to see it constantly being updated, a lot of new stuff has been added!! Thanks to all of you!
P.S. Can I buy his books in English anywhere BUT Amazon? All the best!!!
You guys are great!! I wish I was Lebanese.
I was pleased to see again one Lebanese person showing to the world how civilized we are despite the negative perspective in which we are seen in the world.
Great reading! Definitely sparked my interest into obtaining his books. Looking forward to it.
I like great Lebanese people.
I have not read anything from Ameen Rihani. This is my first glance at his work.
I am proud to be Lebanese because Ameen Rihani was.
I would really like to congratulate the people behind this website. It has been a pleasure for me to know that great Lebanese people such as Ameen Rihani are having an organization after them to preserve their rights. I hope other great people do the same too.
Thanks to a true friend and unofficial Ambassador, Fouad Youssef Sader (see 54), I have been introduced to Kahlil Gibran and now to Ameen Rihani. I salute the efforts of my friend to further knowledge of the writings of Arab authors dedicated to "reconcile matter and soul, reason and faith, and the East and West".
I have admired Rihani's work for a long time. Recently I wrote another biography of Abdul Aziz ibn Abdur Rahman ibn Faisal ibn Turki as Saud to add a tenth to the nine already published in English about the man whom I met in 1939. I would like to quote several comments in Rihani's 1928 book about Ibn Saud titled: "Ibn Sa'oud of Arabia: His People and His Land" republished in 1983 by Constable. I am told by Constable that the rights to this book are now in the hands of Ameen Albert Rihani, c/o the International College PO Box 11-0236 Beirut Lebanon. Do you know of any more easily accessible address for Mr. Rihani than the ordinary post? I am prepared to pay for the privilege of using these short quotations, but must state that the book is dry and will enjoy no commercial success. It will be published for download online only. The thesis is a critique of the inferences of previous writers concerning the king's motives amd inaccuracies regarding his conduct You have my E-mail address above if a more rapid means of communicating with Mr. Rihani is available...
I just came on because I was playing CyberSurfari and an answer was on this page.
I'm very, very glad to see that the site is growing. I really love to read Ameen's works, but I can only read it in Russian or English. I'm originally from Russia, now live in US, and I'm very interested in Eastern cultures (mostly Arabic & Indian). I learned about Ameen only 1.5 years ago in Russia since my Dagestanian friend was reading his book (Selected Works) in the Russian language. He is just an amazing philosopher!!! I wish I could read his works in the Arabic language. I wasn't able to find many sites about Rihani (unfortunately), so I hope this site is going to be bigger & bigger every year!!! Shukran!!
I just skimmed the pages so far, but I would definetly revisit this site again. It seems very interesting and makes me proud to read more about such a great Lebanese writer and the achievements he did.
I was told about it from the Freike museum (please send me pictures for my project as soon as possible) Thank you.
Read this site. It's really interesting!
This is fascinating! I was very impressed and learned a lot from this site. I am doing a research paper on Rihani and this helped me out alot.
This site is very educational and was helpful to me. It was really interesting too. Thank you!
Ameen Rihani was a pioneer for his litrary and political contributions to the Arab world. We need people like Rihani to shake up the stagnation that dwells within the Arab world.
It's a great site and I hope that you get more visitors on this page.
Dear Samira, Amine, Reem and Khaled,
Big hugs and kisses from Bahrain.
Happy New Year, may it bring to all of you Jesus blessings and joy.
I found your website on a teacher's program and am very interested in Arab literature. My husband is from Lebanon and I am always interested in learning all about his culture. I have read books by other Arabic authors and books about Lebanon.
Your web site was great! I liked it... So keep it up.
I have always thought that the Arab language was romantic. I now have a new found love for literary works and I give thanks to your site. Thank you for bringing Rihani's works to my attention. I know that a lot of Arab stories might have been lost if not for his works. I think this site will be benefical to a lot of people, and many will give thanks for supporting the Arab literary works and contributions.
I think that this is quite marvelous!
I offer my gratitude to you for providing such an insightful web site, which has introduced me to the life and works of Ameen Rihani. I assure you that I shall pursue a better understanding of the thoughts and writings of this very accomplished man who sought to bridge the gap between two very different worlds. (I learned of your subject from a link on Educast.com)
What greeeeeat work!! Hope to hear from you more and more.
It's a great thing what you are doing for Arabic literature. By supporting Ameen Rihani, you support the worldwide Arabic community.
Thanks !
I think he is an individual who initiated change. What Rihani has done is very beneficial for generations to come. I admire his work!
GREAT SITE! Really impressed!
I own "The Book of Khalid". I would like to donate it to your collection. I am going to Lebanon in September.
Great site. Ameen Rigani is a great man with a great mind. I love his work and I thank you for making it available for the world to see.
Congratulations on this important event; the donation of Ameen Rihani works to the Library of Congress.
My family joins the rest of your well wishers in offering the Ameen Rihani Museum and the Rihani Family our warmest regards and expressing our pride to read this marvelous work of our countryman.
May God Bless you and Lebanon.
Well Done!
With great pride and pleasure, I salute you on a very informative and well done job.
